Summerside Police describe his condition to be stable, but serious condition.
Accord to the police, 29-year-old James Russell Purdy has been arrested and remanded into custody until his next court appearance on Aug. 20.
Purdy has been charged with break and enter and aggravated assault.
Police and Island EMS were called to 30 Mill Crescent on Sunday after a family member found the seriously injured victim in his home.
He was taken to Prince County Hospital but had to be airlifted to Halifax.
Purdy was arrested at a home in Wellington Monday.
