The City of Summerside is throwing a party to celebrate the reopening of Leger Park.
The park, located at the corner of Central Street and Maple Avenue, is one of the busiest in the city and recently underwent a revamp. The city has added extensive new splash pad features, a new basketball court, a concessions stand, updated shuffleboard and horseshow pit, paved paths and new playground features.
“Leger Park has gone through a complete transformation,” said JP Desrosiers, director of Community Services.
The park’s grand reopening will take place Monday, Aug. 13, from 2 to 5 p.m. There will be an official ceremony at 2 p.m., followed by a free barbeque, games, a petting zoo and live music.
“We encourage the entire community to come out and see for themselves the investments made in our Leger Park,” said Mayor Bill Martin.
