The Stratford woman was ordered to pay restitution of $2,500 to the Ian W.H. Bailey Law Office in Charlottetown.

She was convicted of stealing that amount by fraudulently cashing four cheques in September 2016 while working for the law firm.

Provincial Court Judge John Douglas also imposed a $100 victim surcharge.

Faulkner, a mother of two who has battled addiction, will serve her sentence on weekends to allow her to start a new job.

Following completion of her sentence, she will be on probation for 12 months with the expectation she keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
