Someone on P.E.I. stopped roadside to help a man with a stolen van, but who?

The RCMP is asking for tips about a vehicle allegedly stolen Dec. 24 from New Brunswick.

The vehicle was recovered later that same day by the Queens District RCMP and is described as a grey, 1984 GMC Rally camper van, model G2500.
“Police are aware that another vehicle had stopped to help a man trying to get the vehicle started after (the stolen van) had broken down on the south side of Route #1, facing East in Bonshaw around 3:00 - 3:30 p.m. on the day of the theft,” said a police statement.

“A witness observed a car parked at the front of the van, apparently providing assistance,” police said.

The RCMP is asking for that person who provided assistance to give a call to the nearest detachment, as well as anyone else who has knowledge of this alleged crime.
