Solar lights stolen from Cavendish, RCMP investigates

Queens District RCMP is investigating the theft of multiple solar lights from the Cavendish Resort Municipality area.

Over recent weeks, and up until May 16, a total of 145 solar light fixtures were removed from posts throughout the Cavendish area.

RCMP received the first theft complaint on May 15 when maintenance noticed 67 fixtures missing.

The next day, RCMP were told another 68 fixtures were stolen overnight.

The solar lights were used as safety markers along walking paths and for beautification of the Cavendish Resort area.

RCMP are asking for the public’s help in locating the solar lights and or identifying those responsible for the thefts.
