Fresh Brewed Tales from the Coffee Bar
Saturday, 7 p.m., Receiver Coffee Co., Charlottetown

Are you addicted to coffee? Head to Receiver Coffee Saturday to see Vagabond's newest production: “Fresh Brewed Tales from the Coffee Bar.” This year’s show has non-stop laughs, so be careful when watching it or you may find yourself out of your seat and on the floor. Admission is by donation, which will be collected at the venue, so show up early — only 40 seats are available each night.

Welcome the Spring: Songwriter’s Circle
Saturday, 7 p.m., Trinity United Church, Summerside

Trinity United Church presents Meaghan Blanchard, Mike Dixon and Catherine MacLellan in concert. Contact the church office for tickets at 902-436-3155 or Wendell at 902-436-8600. MacLellan and Dixon (both originally from Summerside, former band members in the Saddle River String Band and recent recipients of Summerside Heritage Awards) will be joined by Meaghan Blanchard. The three have performed on many stages over the years, but for the first time will be together sharing songs and collaborating with one another, singing perennial favourites and newly penned songs - some played for the very first time.

Winterjazz double-header with Logan Richard and Nick Doneff
Saturday, 7 p.m., Pour House, Charlottetown

This month the Winterjazz audience is in for a real treat as they feature two of the Island’s up-and-coming young artists. Both Doneff and Richard have been making waves not only on the P.E.I. scene, but across the Maritimes and the country. Both are monster guitar players and great songwriters who have never played together. The show promises to be a blend of styles, featuring a singer-songwriter and full band set. Admission goes to a scholarship for Island students entering a jazz program. Reservations are strongly recommended, as tables fill early. Call 902-892-5200. P.E.I. Writer's Guild Trivia and Sociable
Saturday, 8 p.m., Upstreet Craft Brewing, Charlottetown

The guild hosts its Thinking of Spring Sociable, with a evening including literary trivia with Steve Forbes, contests, giveaways and the chance to chat with others in the writing community. During the sociable, the guild will also announce the winner of Battle Tales. Everyone is welcome – you do not have to be a guild member to join, and admission is free though donations will be accepted towards the work of the guild, which promotes the growth and quality of literary arts in P.E.I. Winter Island Tour: Matthew Byrne and Sherman Downey

These two are masterful storytellers with a dynamic stage chemistry that demonstrates how the traditional and modern worlds of folk music can merge seamlessly.
