GEORGETOWN - A Rollo Bay man who assaulted a police officer and was shot in the leg in December entered guilty pleas Thursday to two charges.

Cory Russell Levy appeared before Chief Judge Nancy Orr in provincial court in Georgetown where he pleaded guilty to impaired driving and assaulting a police officer.

During a previous court appearance Levy pleaded guilty to breaching an undertaking and violating an emergency protection order.

Levy was charged after a Dec. 4 incident during which an RCMP officer fired his service weapon and hit Levy in the leg.

He was taken to hospital with a non-life threatening injury.

Levy is in custody and entered his guilty plea Thursday from the prisoners’ box where he stood at a microphone with his wrists handcuffed in front of him.

A pre-sentence report has been requested and the matter was adjourned until March 29 for sentencing.
