BONSHAW – Island RCMP is asking the assistance of the public in help locating the suspect(s) of a vehicle theft, which took place on Dec. 24 2017 from New Brunswick.

The vehicle was recovered later that day by Queens District RCMP and is described as a 1984, grey GMC G2500 Rally.

Police are aware that another vehicle had stopped to help a man trying to get the GMC van started after it had broken down on the south side of Route 1 facing east in Bonshaw around 3 to 3:30 p.m. on the day of the theft.

A witness saw a car parked at the front of the van, apparently providing assistance.

Police are asking the person who stopped to help to contact their local police department. Anyone else with information about the suspect or of the stolen vehicle is asked to call the RCMP at 902-368-9300, or provide information anonymously through P.E.I. Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
