Two people were treated by Island EMS for moderate injuries after a three-vehicle collision on the Hillsborough Bridge in Stratford Wednesday.

At about 8:45 a.m. Aug. 29, a three-vehicle collision took place in the bridge’s east-bound lane, rear-ending each other near the Esso Service Station.

One of the vehicles had major damage and the air bags deployed in the crash.

Members of the Stratford and Maypoint RCMP attended and quickly had the lanes re-opened.

With the school year just around the corner, the RCMP is asking drivers to be more aware on the Island roads.

Drivers are asked to leave plenty of space between their vehicle and those in front and behind them.

A good following distance will allow a driver to perceive the car in front braking and they will be able to stop the car safely.

Providing sufficient space between vehicles also gives the person behind enough time to react and stop safely.
