Raise-A-Reader donates funds to P.E.I. Literacy Alliance's Ready-Set-Learn program

A group of children from the P.E.I. Literacy Alliance’s Ready-Set-Learn program hold a cheque for $19,388.46 donated from the annual Raise-A-Reader fundraiser. The campaign, held every September across P.E.I. by The Guardian and Journal-Pioneer, raises funds for Island literacy programs by collecting donations in exchange for free newspapers. The Ready-Set-Learn program offers free tutoring in the summer and literacy camps on school PD days.
