Islanders are invited to take a survey on their attitudes towards cannabis, their current use of cannabis, and their knowledge of lower-risk cannabis use.
The survey is available online as of Aug. 1 and throughout the month of August at www.princeedwardisland.ca/cannabissurvey.
Any Island resident 16 years or older, regardless of whether or not they have ever used cannabis, can take the survey.
Participants can win an iPad or a Confederation Bridge pass during weekly prize draws, so complete the survey early to be entered into all draws.
Survey results will help the Chief Public Health Office monitor the impact of federal cannabis legalization on P.E.I. and guide public health and public safety programs and services for Islanders.
“We want to have clear picture of how Islanders currently view and comprehend cannabis use,” said Health and Wellness Minister Robert Mitchell. “By doing a survey now – and then repeating it every year – we can monitor if attitudes and knowledge about the product changes and ensure we are providing appropriate programs and educational resources, so that Islanders are making an informed choice about cannabis use.”
