Prince County woman wins big at G20 Global Business Challenge

Somewhere in Australia right now, a Prince County woman is celebrating a huge accomplishment.

Lica Christensen, of Long River, is part of a team from Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador participating in the 2014 G20 Global Business Challenge in Australia.

The winner was announced earlier today at about 10 a.m. Atlantic Time.

The team beat out 40 other groups from 18 countries to take home the top prize, which comes with a $100,000 paycheck for the group.

For the challenge, teams were asked to develop an innovative solution to help fight the global fresh water shortage.
