Late Friday police would say nothing more than one body was found and was sent to Halifax for a forensic autopsy.
RCMP spokeswoman Leanne Butler would not say if the body was of a man, woman, or child, if the case was a suspected murder or any other detail.
As the body was removed late Friday, covered in a white sheet on a stretcher, it appeared to be that of an adult.
Neighbours said that a man, his partner and two children lived in the trailer home at the crime scene.
The trailer is located in a wooded lot with broken fishing gear and a fishing boat seen in the back yard. The back yard was filled with a wide variety of scattered items.
There was no front lawn to the road at the residence, in stark contrast to neat homes and properties neighboring the crime scene.
The RCMP said in a press release that about 2 p.m. Friday it received a complaint from a resident which launched the investigation.
“Every death of this nature is considered suspicious until determined otherwise,” said Butler.
Investigation teams stayed at the scene overnight with Route 220, the Pleasant Grove road closed right by the incident area through the night.
A further update will be provided Saturday at 2 p.m. No further official information is available until then.
A mobile command post, the RCMP’s police dog unit and numerous officers poured over the area during daylight Friday. As darkness fell, generators fed strong flood lights illuminating the back of the property.
The forensic identification staff, dressed in white suits, concentrated on the property were the body was found, but even picked up items from a neat, but unoccupied trailer across the road.
