A 48-year-old Kingston man is facing numerous charges after he allegedly fled on foot from police.
Charlottetown Police Services were on routine patrol when the officer noticed a suspicious vehicle and verified the licence plate. The plate came back as stolen.
According to a police news release, the vehicle attempted to evade police and drove over lawns on private property. The driver then fled on foot at which point a perimeter was established. RCMP dog services were called to assist with the search of the suspect.
The police dog was able to locate the suspect a short distance away and the man was arrested without incident.
The man has been charged with operating a motor vehicle while being pursued by police, possession of stolen property and breach of probation.
He will appear in provincial court in Charlottetown at a later date.
