His owner, Kevin Cook, said Tango ran away Sunday afternoon, and has been seen darting back and forth on Highway 2 before the intersection by the Blueshank Road.
Cook is going through the woods on both sides of the road searching for Tango, and is using peacock sounds on his phone and putting out dry dog food to try luring him back.
He said Tango doesn’t know how to get back home, and peacocks are fast runners, making them difficult to catch.
He got his pet from an Islander breeder just a few days ago. He now realizes he should have kept Tango in a box pen for a couple weeks to prevent him from flying, but he and his wife opened the gate because he seemed calm.
“I just want him to come back safely,” said Cook.
He owns The Honey Tree Nursery in Norboro, and can be reached on his cell at (902) 439-6104 if anyone has information on Tango’s whereabouts.
