Firefighters from the Tyne Valley and Lennox Island Fire Department work to keep the fire under control at a house fire in Enmore Friday afternoon.

There was no one home at the time of the fire, which occurred Friday morning; however, two family pets were lost, and the residence was destroyed.

The Tyne Valley Fire Department responded to the scene with 22 firefighters and four fire trucks, and the Wellington and Lennox Island departments assisted in knocking down the blaze.

Tyne Valley fire chief William Bishop said they received the call around 11:25 a.m.

East Prince RCMP and Island EMS also responded.

Route 11 between Stewart Lane and Portage Shore Road has been reopened to the public.

East Prince RCMP is working with the Provincial Fire Marshal’s office to determine the cause of the fire, and the investigation is ongoing.
