Island RCMP and reminding the travelling public to drive with caution after responding to nine traffic collisions over the past two days.
On Aug. 29 around 3:50 p.m., and in the minutes following Queens District RCMP were called to three different motor vehicle accidents at the same time. One on Route 2 in Ten Mile House, a second on Route 2 in Brookfield and a third on the Bunbury Road in Stratford.
Island EMS assisted at both Route 2 collisions. New Glasgow Fire Department assisted at the Brookfield crash.
At all three collisions RCMP members investigated felt that aggressive driving and tailgating play parts in the collisions. There were no major injuries.
Investigations in to the Route 2 crashes are still on-going while a summary offence tickets have been issued involving the Ten Mile House accident.
Six of the nine collisions happened between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., which is also known as rush hour.
Some of the collisions were minor in nature while others involved serious damage and injuries.
The collisions required the of police, fire, Island EMS and towing services and reduced the flow of traffic during peak hours.
RCMP urge drivers to obey traffic laws, respect other motorists on the road and allow adequate time to travel to a destination.
