Two suspects involved in a May 27 robbery at a Water Street motel in Summerside made court appearances this week.

Scott Bruce Dalziel, 40, of Summerside has been charged with one count of robbery, one count of failing to attend court, two counts of breaching his probation, one count of breaching a recognizance and one count of theft of items valued at less than $5,000.

At provincial court in Summerside earlier this week, Dalziel pleaded not guilty to the robbery charge and trial dates of Aug. 27 and 28 were set. The other charges have been set over until then. He’s been remanded into custody pending his trial.

His co-accused, Congjie Tan, will appear in court again on June 21 for election and plea.

A third co-accused, Aaron Christopher Prichard, 34, has been charged with robbery, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. His next court appearance will be July 3 at 1:30 p.m.

All three men were allegedly involved in the robbery which precipitated the death of Jeremy Stephens, 32, of Summerside. Stephens was shot by police as they attempted to arrest him for suspected involvement in the May 27 robbery. He later died in hospital.
