Man with 21-page criminal record gets 15 days for stolen $20 bill

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – Snatching a $20 bill from a gas bar counter has landed a man in jail for 15 days.

Chief Provincial Court Judge Nancy Orr said she took into consideration John Daniel Peters’ lengthy criminal record in imposing the sentence.
Peters’ prior record fills 21 pages.
He pleaded guilty to taking a $20 bill that was placed on a counter of the Epekwitk Gas Bar in Scotchfort.
He committed the crime while on a probationary order to keep the peace.
Orr also ordered him to serve 60 hours of community service free of charge.
