MacDougall Steel Erectors, which is based in the Borden-Carleton industrial park, will purchase the building. No price tag was mentioned in the province’s announcement regarding the sale.
The company said Wednesday that it will expand its operations into the facility, allowing it to diversify its product and service offerings.
“We believe this facility will allow us to grow our work force and capacity, diversify our markets, and give us the ability to compete on larger jobs in Western Canada and in the United States,” said Ron MacDougall, president and CEO of MacDougall Steel Erectors.
“We could realistically add up to 140 jobs to the area. The key to our success is our highly skilled, hard working employees. Great employees make great companies”
He added that the increase in space will allow the company to grow into different markets such as pipe spooling, heavy complicated industrial, plate work, pressure vessel fabrication and increase its structural steel and miscellaneous metals fabrication.
More to come.
