“I've got a lot of family from here, I spent summers here, it’s certainly going to be very memorable,” said the Ottawa Senators player after the team’s pre-game skate at Credit Union Place in Summerside.
“It’s not every day you get the entire Ottawa Senators team over to your house. It’s really special. Hockeyville is all about seeing the kids and their excitement, it’s why we’re all here.”
He added, “I’m proud to be here. You can see the passion for the game and for O’leary to have the opportunity to be Hockeyville. Everyone is really enjoying it. They’ve earned Hockeyville and it was because of their passion we’re here.”
Kyle Turris had never been to the Island, but thanks to Hockeyville that’s changed.
“I heard it was beautiful, and it’s proven that. But getting to see the kids out front this morning and practicing here with the crowd, it’s cool. It’s really something to be a part of."
