Members of an all-female Canadian pilot’s club is scheduled to land in Slemon Park, Saturday.

The group of 22 pilots, part of a group called The Canadian 99s, will land at Summerside Airport with 10 small aircraft.

The group is traveling to the Island from Rockport, Ont., as part of its annual Gold Cup Air Rally. They will be competing in a variety of activities as part of the rally. 

While on the Island, the pilots will be doing some tourist activities, touring Standard Aero, holding an awards banquet/lobster dinner and doing a flight to Îles de la Madeleine.

The Ninety-Nines, Inc. was founded in 1929 by a group of 99 licensed women pilots to advance and support women in aviation.
