SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. – The Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission approved the petroleum pricing decisions early Saturday morning.
Gas prices have increased by 2 cents per litre and diesel prices by 3 cents per litre.
Propane prices will decrease by 1.2 cents per litre for Irving Energy Distribution and Marketing, and there will be no change in price for Superior Propane and Kenmac Energy Inc.
There is no change in the price of furnace and stove oil.
Including adjustments for taxes, pump prices for regular unleaded gasoline at self-serve outlets will now range from 128.2 to 129.4 cents per litre. Pump prices for diesel will range from 135.7 to 136.9 cents per litre. Maximum before tax propane prices will now range from 78.8 to 80.8 cents per litre.
The maximum price for furnace oil will continue to be 94.3 cents per litre, plus tax.
Escalated wholesale pricing for both gasoline and diesel related to a combination of increased demand and a number of supply interruptions have necessitated the pricing adjustments.
The commission’s next scheduled price adjustment will be on Saturday, September 15.
