Funding available for home renovation programs

CHARLOTTETOWN– Applications are being accepted for the P.E.I. Home Renovation Programs through the housing division of the Department of Community Services and Seniors.

Three programs are available to assist eligible low income Islanders, families, persons with disabilities and persons with special needs with the cost of necessary repairs to their homes.

P.E.I. Home Renovation Program is designed to assist with the cost of repairs to heating, electrical, structural, plumbing, or fire safety components of the home with a maximum forgivable loan of $12,000.

P.E.I. Home Renovation Program for Persons with Disabilities assists with home modifications to accommodate a disability through maximum forgivable loan: of $16,000.

P.E.I. Emergency Home Repair Program assists with home repairs to address a situation that is an imminent safety threat. This program has a maximum forgivable loan of $6,000.

Funds will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis to eligible applicants until the program budget is exhausted.
