Flames consume car near Bloomfield, P.E.I.

O'Halloran Road blocked for almost an hour

A Ford Mustang was destroyed in a noontime fire on the O’Halloran Road in Campbellton on Tuesday. Police, fire and Island EMS personnel responded to the 9-1-1 call made by a passerby shortly after 12 noon. There were no injuries. The road reopened to traffic about an hour later, once the fire was extinguished and West Isle Towing removed the vehicle from the scene.

BLOOMFIELD, P.E.I. — A section of the O'Halloran Road between Bloomfield and Campbellton was closed to traffic for close to an hour Tuesday after a late-model Ford Mustang caught on fire. The driver pulled the vehicle partially onto the shoulder of the road before escaping the fire. There were no injuries.

A passerby called in the fire shortly after 12 noon. RCMP, O'Leary Fire Department, Island EMS responded and West Isle Towing all responded. The car was destroyed and had to be floated from the scene.
