She was all bundled up Wednesday afternoon, sleeping in her grandmother’s arms, then her father’s when the Journal Pioneer stopped by for a visit.
Baby Rice was originally scheduled to arrive on Jan. 1, so her parents joked that they had a chance of having the Island’s first baby of 2017, but she hung on for a couple of extra days.
They’re all just happy she and mama are both healthy and happy, said grandmother Sheila Manderson.
“I think she’s perfect. I’ve already sent numerous emails, text messages, phones calls – everybody knows,” she gushed.
P.E.I.’s first baby was Isabelle Marie Moher, born at 6:46 a.m. on Jan. 1 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown to Victoria MacQuarrie and Ian Moher.
