Firefighters from Wellington were on the scene for several hours, starting shortly after the first call came in around 8 a.m. Smoke was still emanating from the structure several hours later as firefighters battled hotspots.

The structure, which is on St. Gilbert Road, was eventually torn down.

It is unknown what caused Friday’s fire, though firefighters suspect a flare up may have occurred from unfound embersfrom Wednesday’s fire.

The provincial fire marshall’s office was investigating Wednesday’s fire but no cause has been released yet.

The two people who lived in the home were being assisted by the Canadian Red Cross.
