There were four people living in the home but no one was home when the fire broke out. There were no injuries.
The Tignish Fire Department responded to the 10:30 p.m. call and immediately called in the Miminegash Fire Department for support. Firefighters were on the scene for four and a half hours.
Tignish fire chief, Harley Perry, said the home suffered so much damage that he was not sure whether it is salvageable.
