ALBERTON—Prince District RCMP has provided more information on what led to an emergency police response in Alberton on Thursday.
They report they were responding to a firearms complaint at an Alberton residence but, upon arriving at the scene, they determined the complaint was false. Police are now treating the incident as public mischief. They issued a reminder that persons who call the police and make a false complaint can face criminal charges. “It puts members of the public and the police responding to such calls at risk,” the RCMP advised.
