SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. - Over 50 bilingual employees of the Prince Edward Island health sector attended the Au cœur du service (At the heart of the service) conference on March 2 at the Centre Belle-Alliance in Summerside.

This event was an opportunity, during the Étoiles Santé gala, to present the 2018 Étoile Santé award to Dr. Nadine Arsenault-Samson.
The day opened with a conference by Senator René Cormier on the importance of language and culture in health-care delivery.
The conference was followed by a workshop with experiential, exchange and reflection activities presented by the Planetree Network, an international leader in quality person-centered health care.
The Étoiles Santé gala was held during lunch and provided an opportunity to look back on the success of the Étoile Santé campaign and present the 2018 Étoile Santé award to Arsenault-Samson, family doctor from Summerside. The May 2015 Étoile Santé, she was chosen among all Étoile Santé recipients for having received the most nominations since the beginning of the campaign in January 2015.
Throughout the day, participants also had the opportunity to network and visit personal and professional development booths. The event ended with an interactive workshop.
