Borden-Carleton, P.E.I. - Confederation Bridge was closed to all traffic on Christmas Day for about an hour and a half because of the storm. The closure was implemented at 8:15 p.m. on Dec. 25, then at 9:45 p.m. was re-opened but with restrictions in place for certain classes of vehicles.
The strong winds late Christmas Day kept automobiles towing trailers, motorcycles, high-sided vehicles including trucks, tractor trailers, recreational vehicles, and buses from crossing.
Bridge restrictions were put in place again at 7:15 a.m. on Boxing Day, Dec. 26, because of high winds, but the restrictions were lifted at 8:35 a.m.
At that time, Tuesday, the Confederation Bridge was open to all traffic.
