CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - Except for a plywood wall where a door used to be it’s business as usual for a Kent Street business that had a vehicle crash through its storefront Monday night.

The storefront of Denis Office Supplies and Furniture on Kent Street may be boarded up, but the business is open after an SUV crashed into it Monday afternoon.

On Tuesday, Stephen Hegarty, manager of Denis Office Supplies and Furniture, said he didn’t when that storefront would be replaced.

“I guess that’s all in the works right now,” he said.

Hegarty was getting ready to close the store Monday when an SUV crashed through the entrance on Kent Street at around 5:30 p.m.

No one was injured, but the SUV took out most of the entrance.

By Tuesday morning, a wall of plywood blocked off the entrance while inside there was minor damage, included a few spots where drywall was broken.

A sign on the plywood told customers the store was still open and accessible through an entrance inside BDC Place.

Charlottetown police confirmed Tuesday no charges have been laid against the driver, but the matter was still under investigation pending an inspection of the vehicle.
