Melissa Williams, a member of the Alberton Skate Park Committee, accepts a Pat’s Irving donation of $1,000 from Pat Murphy and his daughter, Lyla.

The committee is hoping to raise $40,000 to build concrete ramps and other infrastructure to create a skate park at Veterans Memorial Field. They want to start construction next spring.

Murphy, owner of Pat's Irving and Retail, helped kick off the fundraising campaign with a $1,000 contribution and a pitch for other businesses to provide their financial support to the project.
