Due to the overwhelming response, no further applications will be accepted during this fiscal year for the Home Renovation Program, the Person’s With Disabilities Home Renovation Program or the Emergency Home Repair Program.

All Islanders who have applied for funding will receive a letter indicating the status of their application.

Applications are still being accepted for the Seniors Home Repair Program, which helps low-income seniors make necessary repairs to their principal residence.

For information on this program, call toll free 1-888-831-8880 or go to www.gov.pe.ca/go/housing.

Islanders with a total household income of $35,000 or less can apply to the Home Energy Low-Income Program (HELP) through the Office of Energy Efficiency.

Under this program, a tradesperson will complete comprehensive air-sealing (caulking and weather-stripping on windows and doors) free of charge.

The P.E.I. Home Renovation Program is a component of the $3-million Investment in Affordable Housing 2011-2014 Agreement between the governments of Canada and Prince Edward Island, which was announced in April 2013.
