Environment Canada has issued another heat warning for Prince Edward Island for Sunday and into Monday, with temperatures expected to reach 29 C.

Sunny conditions and southwesterly winds will push much warmer air over the province Sunday when temperatures are expected to increase with daytime highs reaching, or even surpassing 27 C in a number of locations, the weather agency said.

These very warm conditions will persist Sunday night into Monday morning as overnight lows struggle to fall below 18 or 19 C.

Very warm and somewhat more humid conditions will continue Monday with humidex values exceeding 30 C.

Cooler conditions are expected along coastal areas where southwesterly winds blow onshore.
Environment Canada said a return to more seasonal temperature values is in store after a cold front passes through on Tuesday.

Heat risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.

Watch for the effects of heat illness: swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions.

To reduce heat risk, schedule outdoor activities during the coolest parts of the day.
