CANOE COVE – A male teenager is dead following a single vehicle rollover here on Sunday.

RCMP responded to the collision on Route 19 at approximately 5 p.m. after receiving word of the collision from a resident.

Police said both driver and passenger were ejected from the vehicle during the collision.

The passenger died while the driver suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

“The file is still ongoing,” said an RCMP spokesman. “We’re still trying to get witnesses.”

At approximately the same time, RCMP also responded to a separate collision on the Kingston Road near Bluefield High School.

Two motorcycles had been travelling when one of the drivers went into the ditch and suffered head and back injuries.

Police said the man, a 55-year-old former resident of P.E.I., was transported to hospital in Halifax.

The spokesman said both collisions are still under investigation and RCMP plan to issue a press release with more details.
