FIVE HOUSES — An Island man will appear in court in late August after being arrested by Kings District RCMP over the weekend for driving drunk.

At about 11:36 Saturday morning, RCMP were on patrol on Route 2 in Five Houses when a vehicle pulled onto the highway without stopping at a stop sign.

Police pulled the vehicle over and the man driving showed signs of alcohol impairment.

The man was arrested and taken to the Queens District RCMP detachment where he provided breath samples well over the legal limit.

He was released by police and is scheduled to appear in Georgetown provincial court on Aug. 28.
