A 67-year-old Charlottetown man was arrested Tuesday for assault with a weapon and issuing threats in an incident that involves Samurai swords.

Charlottetown Police Services received a complaint regarding a man threatening people with three swords at an address on University Avenue, near Connolly Street.

Police responded and arrested the man, charging him with assault with a weapon and threats. Police also seized three Samurai swords.

The accused man was jailed at the provincial correctional centre and will make an appearance in provincial court at a later date.

No injuries were sustained in the incident.

This is at least the third incident on P.E.i. this year where a man has been charged and samurai swords were somehow involved.
