PharmaChoice big winner in PCE parade

Alberton PharmaChoice staff served up a dose of entertainment during the Prince County Exhibition Parade Saturday and floated off with awards for best overall entry and best theme.

ALBERTON -- The Alberton PharmaChoice float was a double winner during Saturday’s Prince County Exhibition parade. The pharmacy won for best overall float and for best theme. The theme for the fair and its parade this year was “An Old-Fashioned Fair for a New Generation."

The award for best agricultural entry went to the Poirier Family’s horses.

Tignish Credit Union had the best business entry and Alberton Home Hardware took runner-up honours.

Other businesses picking up awards were Richard’s Quality Auto Repair for most amusing entry, Foodland for best family float and Saunders Variety for best decorated storefront.

The Shriners were judged to have the best institutional float and the Alberton Lions Club the best volunteer entry. The Alberton Pee Wee hockey team was judged to have the best youth organization float.

The exhibition’s entry was awarded for best community float.

In the antiques category, Dave Burgoine was awarded for best post 1950 auto and Weldon Rennie had the best antique tractor.
