The Queens RCMP received the call at 6 p.m. on July 9, reporting a male with a firearm in his residence in Kingston and a single shot being fired through a window. It was later found to be from a BB gun.

The incident ended when the subject surrendered to police and was detained under the Mental Health Act and taken to the hospital for medical assessment. No charges have been laid.
