TIGNISH -- A Ford Drive4 UR School event has netted the Tignish Home and School association $6,000 for special programs at Tignish Elementary School.

Principal Mike Ellsworth said much of the Ford Canada contribution made through D. Alex MacDonald Ltd., will be applied towards books and other classroom library resources.

The donation comes from a Ford test drive event the Home and School organized in April. Ford would donate $20 to the school for each test drive taken, t a maximum of 300 drives, with one test drive per family. The Home and School scheduled enough test drives to score the maximum donation under the program.
