SUMMERSIDE – The Bayview Shell on Water Street east has been razed to make way for a Needs convenience store and a new Shell service station.
“This is a rebuild of a new Shell and Needs location and Austin Roberts will continue to operate the site,” said a spokesperson from Sobeys Atlantic. “We do expect the location to be open and operational by the end of the summer. We think our customers on Water Street are going to be pleased with the changes – this is going to be a much larger convenience site and will offer some new products in the expanded space as well.”
Sobeys Inc. continues to expand its dealer-owned gas bars and convenience stations.
The company has signed an agreement with the Scholten Group to supply six of its dealer-owned gas bars and convenience stations in New Brunswick with fuel. The stations will be converted to the Shell brand beginning this month.
“Sobeys fuel and convenience is open for business and looking for opportunities to expand into other areas throughout Atlantic Canada,” said Valerie Ryan, vice-president of Sobeys convenience and fuel. “Our value proposition for customers - grocery and fuel savings, combined with our partnership with Air Miles - is proving to be a real win for our current partners in the region, and we’re happy to welcome the Scholten family to our network.”
