SUMMERSIDE –Summerside Police Services has arrested a man for alledgedly assaulting and stealing from another.

Police say they received the victim’s complaint on May 22.

He said he’d been assaulted by someone he knew and was forced to go to his bank and withdraw money for his attacker.

Police subsequently identified 43-year-old Michael Andrew Scott of West Prince as a suspect.

Officers arrested Scott in Mill River on Monday after he alledgedly resisted arrest.

He is scheduled to be in Summerside Provincial Court for a show cause hearing after being charged with extortion, unlawful confinement, robbery and resisting arrest.
