SUMMERSIDE – Summerside has a new claim to fame.

National monthly magazine Reader’s Digest has named the Out to Lunch food truck as one of the ten best food joints of its kind in Canada.

Owned by Kevin Wile, who also own the Butcher’s Block on Central Street and business partner Donnie Gallant, Out to Lunch is small mobile kitchen with a wide selection of menu items.

It opened in the summer of 2013 and is located next to the Butcher’s Block.

But unfortunately for anyone with a sudden urge to see what all the fuss is about, it’s a seasonal operation.

The Reader’s Digest piece, which consists of about a paragraph of text next to a picture of each of its top 10 picks, praises the business for its varied specials.

“One week it might be butter chicken, and the next a Caribbean quinoa dish. A world of flavours, all in one place,” it writes.

Other Atlantic Canadian mentions include Ziggy Peelgood’s fry truck in St. John’s, Jobie’s Mobile Kitchen of Bathurst and Nomad Gourmet of Halifax.

NOTE: A previous version of this article incorrectly  stated that Out to Lunch was located on South Drive. It is actually on Central Street.
