O’LEARY -- For a second consecutive year, the Canadian Potato Museum in O’Leary will be benefitting from a special potato sales promotion offered throughout Atlantic Canada by Sobeys.

A portion of sales from specially marked bags of potatoes sold by Sobeys from February 1 to March 13, 2014 will be donated to the Potato Museum.

Sobeys launched the promotion February 1, the first day of Potato Month. The supplier is W.P. Griffin Inc., of Elmsdale, one of the co-sponsors of the special promotion. Other sponsors are the P.E.I. Potato Board, Fresh Media, P.E.I. Bag Company, Rodd’s Mill River Resort and Mill River Golf.

Atlantic Canadians can follow directions on specially marked bags, or go to canadianpotatomuseum.com to enter a contest for a chance to win a grand prize of a three-day, two-night golf getaway at the Rodd Mill River Resort. There are nine secondary prizes of $100 Sobeys gift cards and fifty prizes at $20.

The campaign goal is to sell 100,000 of the specially marked bags. The not-for-profit museum will receive a donation from all bags sold. Proceeds will assist the museum with its operating costs.
