SUMMERSIDE — The city’s Boys and Girls Club is taking a stand against bullying.

On Feb. 26, staff and club members will don pink shirts and join the anti-bullying movement during the 7th annual Pink Shirt Anti Bullying Day.

The club has partnered with East Coast Cresting and Source for Sports in helping provide the T-shirts for the initiative.

This year, Boys and Girls Clubs across the Island will receive proceeds from the sales of these shirts, as well as SAVE (Students Against Violence Everywhere).

Dwayne McNeill, owner of the Summerside Source For Sports, visited the club recently to deliver a large number of pink shirts.

Club staff has also been visiting its partners and various businesses to help spread awareness and ensure that on Feb. 26 Summerside is a sea of pink.

The Boys and Girls Club is also again teaming up with the Summerside Western Capitals to host Pink at the Rink.

On Feb. 27, members of the Pick With Me Anti Bullying Program will be at Credit Union Place during the Caps’ 7 p.m. game. Program members will be accepting pledges and handing out pink shirt cookies to those supporting the program.
