KENSINGTON – The Town of Kensington has agreed to be the host community for P.E.I.’s 2018 Royal Canadian Navy Battle of the Atlantic Commemorative Ceremony.

The town was approached by HMCS Queen Charlottetown in Charlottetown earlier this month to consider hosting the event, which is held in a different Island community every year.

It was noted during the town’s monthly council meeting that there are currently four Kensington residents serving with the Naval Reserve Division.

The event, to be held on May 6, 2018, includes a parade of colours and a reception following the event.

It is estimated that hosting the ceremony and reception will cost about $750.
