The Harbourfront Theatre in Summerside is getting an upgrade to its audio equipment thanks to about $110,000 in federal government funding.
Egmont MP Bobby Morrissey and Canadian Heritage Minister Melanie Joly announced the funding recently to improve the facility’s audio system, so it meets industry standards for live performance theatres.
The upgrades are also expected to increase overall efficiency of theatre operations by improving acoustics and backstage communication.
The Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency is providing $45,000 for the project while Canadian Heritage is contributing $65,000.
