Body of missing 50-year-old P.E.I. man found

RCMP said Thursday that they have found the body of a 50-year-old Pleasant Grove man.

Perry Shantz was last seen Friday, May 4, on Riverside Drive wearing khaki pants, a navy hooded sweater with “Ontario Turkey’s” on the front and a grey shirt underneath. He was last seen driving his red Chevrolet Aveo, which has a P.E.I. license plate reading FM6.

The body was discovered May 23 in a wooded area in Long Creek. Foul play is not suspected at this time. 

Police are still working to determine the cause of death and have notified his next of kin.
