SUMMERSIDE – Jay White is America’s Diamond in a musical tribute to Neil Diamond show coming May 26 to Harbourfront Theatre in Summerside.

For over 25 years, Jay White has continued to stretch his singing and acting talents, while reflecting the stage persona of one of the world’s best loved musical icons.

“If you love Neil Diamond, we think you’re really going to enjoy Jay White’s tribute performance this May,” says Kieran Keller, Harbourfront Theatre’s executive director. “White has performed as Diamond in Las Vegas and in cities across North America, and he’s also played him onscreen, which is really unique.”

Keller is referring to White’s role in the 2008 Academy Award nominated film “Frost/Nixon” for which Hollywood director Ron Howard casted Jay to play Neil Diamond. Prior to this, in 2002, White began his eight years as a Las Vegas showroom headliner at the Riviera, sparking national interest and recognition.

In 1996 and again in 2002, White met Neil Diamond before his Vegas MGM appearances, where Neil told White to “keep up the good work” and autographed a photo of the two signing, “Jay, keep singing, so I can stay home and relax, your friend in music.”

“Jay White: America’s Diamond—A Tribute to Neil Diamond” plays at Harbourfront Theatre on Saturday, May 26, at 7:30 p.m.
